Natural Disasters and Politics…

Pathetic…What’s more pathetic, and I admit it, is that I am going to add to it right now…

A guy I knew from my days at Penn State made a post today comparing the headlines on CNN and FoxNews. The original post that his post points to is here [Gawker].

well, I can play too…

CNN
FoxNews

They look extremely similar to me. Maybe FoxNews is just faster at reporting what is going on than CNN….or maybe CNN after seeing what FoxNews was reporting decided to jump on the bandwagon.

Look, EVERYBODY knows the whole situation has been botched from the beginning. Even our “dumb” president has stated that relief efforts have been vastly inadequate and that much more needs to be done…and will be done.

Leadership, in general, in the country seems to be dwindling to the point where we simply can’t function affectively. Too much politcal bickering on both sides. Congress (both parties) had a chance to do something about this when the need to re-enforce the levy’s was brought before congress…and nothing was done. They have said this for years too (not just during this current administration).

Lets just get shit done!

Well lets see this morning’s coverage:

    Foxnews
    CNN

Showing an image where Foxnews and CNN both show the situation in a good light is not very surprising. It doesn’t mean that they areboth are equal, certainly both are substandard sources of news, Foxnews being the poster boy for low quality biased journalism.

What would have been worth a blog entry is a Foxnews.com title page that really communicated how bad the situation is, instead of the usual “The Government is doing a great job..”
